TruField™ Modular Designs feature SHEERGARD Composite Solutions
The TruField™ system developed by RF Industries offers a modular design to meet a range of 5G infrastructure requirements. It is designed to service wireless carriers and neutral host providers with a variety of preconfigured options, as well as customizable solutions if needed.
The TruField™ radome (or “shroud”) was co-developed with RF Industries to provide the 5G market with best-in-class RF performance, qualified structural integrity, ease of access for installation and maintenance, and complete integration with most radio and cooling systems. Thanks to their modular design, they can be easily customized for unique applications; and their thin fabric construction means they are genuinely band-agnostic. Normally, any change in carrier, technology or frequency would require a full change-out of the radome. The band-agnostic nature of the SHEERGARD materials means that there is no need to change the radome – the same shroud will work over the full range of frequencies employed in wireless communications.
The system is lightweight, designed for easy installation on pole tops, and the shroud unzips for full 360° access for maintenance or upgrades. Standard colors include Black, Gray and Brown (with other colors available upon request), an RF Industries proprietary continuous airflow system, and a modular design easily adaptable to future configurations.
Band Agnostic RF Performance
Band agnostic simply means that the radome does not need tuning for the frequency of the incident signal. Fabric solutions, like the ones within TruField™, are band agnostic and mechanically strong enough to provide the required structural integrity at an extremely low thickness (typically around 0.25mm [0.01”]). By using this minimal thickness in front of the array, the fabric’s thickness remains small enough compared to the signal’s wavelength to not induce excess loss or scattering, and so does not require tuning. The thinness of the material also provides low losses at scan angles up to 60 degrees.
